Rarely do I ever get the chance to take photos outside of my Newport and Laguna Beach bubble but this past Saturday, I left my bubble. Where did I go? Well if you read the title already you would know that I went to Venice Beach!
When I first got to Venice I went and walked around Abbot Kinney which is a really cool street that is only a couple blocks away from the Venice Beach Boardwalk. This street had tons of cool things like nice restaurants, trendy shops and some really cool murals. Although I didn’t eat anything or buy anything when I was there, this street was worth checking out! What made it worth the visit were the murals that seemed to be in every alley and each of these murals had their own style and were mostly very vibrant which made for some interesting images!
After walking around Abbot Kinney, I walked on down to the boardwalk and spent awhile just taking photos of anything that was interesting! But the problem with shooting on the boardwalk is that there are so many interesting things going on in every direction! But not only that, there were also hoards of people moving in all directions. Despite the sensory overload and the unreal amounts of people everywhere it is an awesome place to take photos! But after walking up and down the boardwalk for while it seemed as if I had seen everything. No like literally everything, there seemed to be every type of person that you could imagine and every weird thing that a person could be doing going on down by the boardwalk. And because I felt as if I had had enough of the weirdness and I was loosing sunlight, so I decided to head on back to my bubble of Newport!
So if you ever are looking for a culture shock, wanting to take photos or are looking to get weird, then you need to take a trip to Venice Beach on the weekend!
